Ok... I don't really rehash posts because I'm usually on to the next, but this post is the product of two of my last posts... If you were worried about our boy "J.P." having a meltdown at Funkmosphere in LA... You might be able to find solace in the knowledge that he has found truth that a "Renewed Mind IS the Key... as seen below:
The Soup: Joaquin Phoenix 10/31/08
Is it just me or could this be Christian Bale's attempt at musical stardom as well?...

A Little Dragon Breath doesn't smell... It STANKS (like James Brown, of course)!!!
Little Dragon- "After the Rain" Live @ Cafe Du Nord in SF 11/23/08
It's kind of funny that I haven't mentioned Little Dragon on the blog yet. In fact I can already name at least one person who is mad at me for not hipping them to the group or telling them about the show ahead of time...
I apologize. Even I didn't understand their complete importance until last night.
Ever since I got up on them about a year ago, I have been blown away. Their self-titled debut slaps from front to back, with influences spanning soul, hip hop, downtempo, dub, D&B, electronic, rock and jazz in a new fresh way, a perfect cocktail here in Trackademia.
Last night, I had the pleasure of checking them out for the first time at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco.
The show was Amazing. Impactful. Minimal. Important.
I don't need to say too much about it. The crowd was crackin' (don't forget, the Bay still goes DUMB... Even at a Little Dragon show!). I haven't witnessed a band play together with this much ease in ages. And Yukimi is beautiful. There, I said it.
And to make it even better, during the intermission, they played Stereolab and LCD Soundsystem... A Perfect night for Trackademicks (that doesn't involved getting that @$$ or C@$SSSH).
Um, Yeah.

Chromeo x Bacardi x Fool's Gold Remixes= Hot Fiyah!
Honor(able) Disclaimer: Saying that you're supporting Trackademicks by drinking Bacardi is a weak excuse if you're underage!
From the desktop of A-Trak:
I’m surprised we didn’t do this earlier! Chromeo is my brother with our childhood friend, Fool’s Gold is my label… It’s only natural to get Fool’s Gold producers to remix Chromeo. Yet it took Bacardi to make it happen. Bacardi’s B-Live program brings you these funkier-than-thou remixes of the slick album closer “100%.” You all know Treasure Fingers from his infectious two-stepper ‘Cross The Dancefloor’ and multiple remixes as of late. If you’re up on your new releases you probably heard Nacho Lovers’ inaugural and timeless single “Acid Life.” And to flip things a little we recruited Bay Area rapper-slash-producer Trackademicks, whose single “Enjoy What You Do” is just about to drop! Start downloading…NOW.

Today I will be attending the "Goldies" courtesy of the SF Bay Guardian... Should be interesting.
This being my first award and all, I'm not quite sure if I should prepare an acceptance speech, hehehe... I probably won't, seeing as no one wants to hear the vain ramblings of yours truly... trust I could speak at the podium for hours...
If you are in SF tonight, come through!

The People Want Change.
Change is in the air. I inhaled a bunch of it walking around SF yesterday. True, its that time of the year where the seasons are changing, but what I got a whiff of wasn't from the chimney. Not from the rainclouds. Not from the ocean breeze. Nope folks... I'm talking about social Change. A Change driven by the people. People like you and me.
Change is not stagnant.
Change is not solid.
Change is not stiff.
Change is not sameness.
Change can bring hope.
Change can be hard to accept.
Change can be unpopular.
Change can lead brighter future.
Yesterday the people voted for change. They chose hope. They chose the unbeaten path... They chose...
Me!
Trackademicks!
Trackadeeezy!
