Fool's Gold, the label founded by DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs, will release its first compilation on October 25. Fool's Gold Vol. 1, released in partnership with Downtown, drops digitally on October 25. There's also a limited edition CD, but you'll only be able to buy it at locations of the high-fashion store Opening Ceremony.

When I got the call from J2K of Flosstradamus about contributing some music for the new De La Soul mix/project they were working on, OF COURSE I was down!!! De La is one of the dopest, most consistent groups in hip-hop still doing it. They've allowed their music to grow along side themselves without alienating their most diehard fans.

The project turned out to be a collab with Nike+ for their Original Run series. De La now joins LCD Soundsystem, A-Trak and a host of others who have been a part of the series.

This past weekend was crazy in SF. Within a one block radius, there were a ton of worth while events to hit. At Club Six, I was hosting for the Honor Roll's DJ Tap.10 and DJ Revolution of the world famous Wake Up Show. I got chance to hit the Mezzanine and catch a bit of Flosstradamus' set as well.

After everything we hit the "Light's Down Low" for their 3rd Anniversary Party in this super cutty loft. While in there, I had a chance to host for Low Budget' of the Hollertronix for a quick second before the owner of the spot damn near burst a blood vessel trying to turn me off to prevent everyone from having even more fun that they were already having...

January. February.

Done.

Ten more months to GO!

That's exactly what I plan to do...

Fool's Gold Holiday Party/ NY Weekend

I spent this past weekend in NY for the Fool's Gold Holiday Party and had a blast. I got a chance to hit up Santo's Party House for Q-Tip, Rich Medina and Vashtie's weekly, A-Trak and Kid Sister's holiday shindig, and The Rub's Anniversary Warehouse Party. The weekend was dope. I saw snow in a urban setting for the first time.

Everything was great except for JFK and the flight back to SF. A Nightmare. When it comes to aesthetic appeal, functional layout, communication infrastructure, and overall expericence, JFK Airport gets one large, massive, unavoidable, overdue FAIL.
